Awesome To Kill an American...
You probably missed this in the rush of news, but there was actually a report that someone in Pakistan had published in a newspaper, an offer of a reward to anyone who killed an American, any American.
So an Australian dentist wrote an editorial the following day to let everyone know what an American is. So they would know when they found one. (Good one, mate!!!!)
'An American is English, or French, or Italian, Irish, German, Spanish, Polish, Russian or Greek. An American may also be Canadian, Mexican, African, Indian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Australian, Iranian, Asian, or Arab, or Pakistani or Afghan.
An American may also be a Comanche, Cherokee, Osage, Blackfoot, Navaho, Apache, Seminole or one of the many other tribes known as native Americans.
An American is Christian, or he could be Jewish, or Buddhist, or Muslim. In fact, there are more Muslims in America than in Afghanistan . The only difference is that in America they are free to worship as each of them chooses.
An American is also free to believe in no religion. For that he will answer only to God, not to the government, or to armed thugs claiming to speak for the government and for God.
An American lives in the most prosperous land in the history of the world.
The root of that prosperity can be found in the Declaration of Independence , which recognizes the God given right of each person to the pursuit of happiness..
An American is generous. Americans have helped out just about every other nation in the world in their time of need, never asking a thing in return.
When Afghanistan was over-run by the Soviet army 20 years ago, Americans came with arms and supplies to enable the people to win back their country!
As of the morning of September 11, Americans had given more than any other nation to the poor in Afghanistan .
The national symbol of America , The Statue of Liberty , welcomes your tired and your poor, the wretched refuse of your teeming shores, the homeless, tempest tossed. These in fact are the people who built America.
Some of them were working in the Twin Towers the morning of September 11, 2001 earning a better life for their families. It's been told that the World Trade Center victims were from at least 30 different countries, cultures, and first languages, including those that aided and abetted the terrorists.
So you can try to kill an American if you must. Hitler did. So did General Tojo, and Stalin, and Mao Tse-Tung, and other blood-thirsty tyrants in the world. But, in doing so you would just be killing yourself. Because Americans are not a particular people from a particular place.. They are the embodiment of the human spirit of freedom. Everyone who holds to that spirit, everywhere, is an American.
Please keep this going!
Pass this around the World.
Then pass it around again.
It says it all, for all of us Please do not just delete. Pass it on first.
Thanks!

Seniors Helping Seniors
- An experienced and credible resource of help for older adults who want to stay in their own homes
- Full-range of home care, companion and home maintenance support services from seniors who enjoy helping
- Reasonable hourly rates for seniors who want services and reasonable hourly wages to seniors who provide them
What we do
At Seniors Helping Seniors we match seniors who want to provide services with seniors who are looking for help. And what we find is that these relationships are always mutual. It doesn't really matter who is the helper and who is being helped. Who is getting paid and who is paying. How we respond with respect, understanding and assistance is really what matters. Why not Love?® asks us to bring the best part of ourselves to each relationship, responding with love, nurturing that love and promoting our relationships through that love. And the result is The Power of Love™ — the gifts we receive from living our lives with love as our guiding principle. Gifts of joy, peace, happiness and fulfillment — all of which helps us grow in strength and kindness just a little bit more every day.
Who we are
Seniors Helping Seniors was co-founded by Kiran and Philip Yocom to provide seniors with the ability to choose an independent lifestyle in their own homes, for as long as possible, with the dignity and respect they deserve by finding caring seniors to help each other.
Seniors Helping Seniors was created from Kiran's personal mission to care for those who are unable to care for themselves. Before coming to the United States from India, Kiran worked with Mother Teresa for 14 years. Currently, Kiran serves as our organization's Executive Director, and Philip as the President of our Board of Directors.
How we've grown
Since 1998, we have grown from our first match to working with hundreds of helpers and clients. We've continued to expand our geography from Reading to the surrounding counties. We've expanded the training for our helpers. And we've grown the kinds of services we offer in response to the needs of our clients.
We plan to grow even more. We're beginning to open Seniors Helping Seniors Centers in different parts of the area and to license them. If you're interested in learning more about the opportunities for you to participate and Start a Center, click here.

Article:
Retirement - What does this word mean to you?
If we look up the words retire, retired, retirement, in the
Webster's Dictionary, the meaning is: to withdraw, give up,
retreat, be hidden in seclusion, and to give up on one's
position.
Due to the bombardment of Social Security issues through the
national news media, just about everyone 45 and up, over the
last several months, has been thinking about retirement.
An unsettling statistic that I heard was that over 40% of baby
boomers will not have the income to sustain their retirement.
My experience with retirement and use of the word has been
through my parents who have retired and have been living out
their retirement in the Rio Grande Valley in Texas for the last
25 years. After a long 30 year career with a Fortune 50 company,
my dad was ready to give up his 8 to 5 position and settle into
retirement.
As a fifty-something year old, career-tossed man, I am unable to
say that the same is likely to happen for me. So what are my
choices? Is retirement merely about financial scarcity,
resignation and diminution of life?
The first wave of baby boomers will turn 60 in 2006. The
largest, most demanding, and most examined generation in history
is already facing up to a future that looks nothing like our
parents' second half of life. But if you think about it, neither
did the first half resemble their parents.
Since retirement age cannot or will not look or mean the same
for me as it did with my parents. I'm making the choice to
embrace the second wind I'm getting, in order for the next 30
years to be more exciting, more energetic and more inspiring
than the former years.
Thanks to the medical advances and information about health,
baby boomers can expect to live long lives. So it's no wonder
that many of us are looking for direction to make the extra
years integrated and meaningful.
Watch for a virtual explosion of classes, programs, books, and
discussions on innovative ways to celebrate life all the way
through. I personally do not want to withdraw, hide or even
retreat in my second half of my life. That begins with CHOICE.
I'm calling on an entire generation to join with me to choose to
stop using the word "retirement" and start using words like
"graduation" or "transition", "renaissance" or "fulfillment",
which better frame the concluding years. I propose that we not
define ourselves by limitation, but by our ability to make new
discoveries about ourselves and to renew our minds by saying
"I'm too young to retire!!!"

I have been successfully involved in on-line businesses for almost a decade and what has always broken my heart is that far too many folks don't make enough money to keep a bird alive and as many never recoup what the lesson has cost them. This company changes all that and is an answer to my dreams and yours. Now I can sleep at night knowing that I am at last promoting an opportunity where nobody gets hurt and the potential is limitless.

Subject: How Us Seniors Are Coping with Gasoline Prices ...
**************************************
Senior Wheels
Getting older has its drawbacks but I guess there aren't too many good alternatives to getting older. Whenever you see a gathering of seniors it is an even bet they are talking about everything that is wrong with them.
You know, the usual ... prostate, bowel, leg aches, eyesight, no sex drive, etc, etc.
Well, I am a senior and I absolutely refuse to discuss these issues with everyone else. If I have a problem, I find a solution. It may not always be the solution I like but I handle it the best way I know how and I don't openly discuss it with every guy I see on the street that is past age 62.
No sir-ree bub ...
With this in mind, I purchased a new scooter. I wanted something that was easy on gas and could zip me to the store and about town.
This seems to meet my EVERY need. I Love It!
